Tears as Joke Silva Loses Brother, Fans, Colleagues Mourn With Actress: "God Rest His Soul"



Veteran Nollywood actress Joke Silva has announced the death of her elder brother, John Olabiyi Silva, at 72 The Nigerian actress described the deceased as her easy-go-lucky brother in a heartfelt post on her Instagram Condolences have poured in for Joke Silva from industry colleagues and many well-wishers on social media. The Nollywood community is rallying around veteran actress Joke Silva as she mourns the passing of her elder brother, John Olabiyi Silva. 

He died at the age of 72. The actress confirmed the heart breaking news on August 29, 2025, via Instagram, where she posted his picture alongside a tribute. "With acceptance of God’s Sovereign will …we announce the call to Glory of my dear brother John Olabiyi Silva …long John Silva…Bros B…Uncle B…. my easy go lucky brother. Rest in peace. January 22nd 1953-August 29th, 2025." The veteran actress becomes the latest movie star to suffer a painful loss this week.
