Female Nigerian Pilot Shares Why She Doesn’t Want to Have Kids, Her Reasons Spark Debate



A Nigerian female pilot got Nigerians talking after she opened up about why she didn’t want to have kids She also shared her work schedule, sparking mixed reactions from netizens who came across her video While some said her reasons were valid, others mentioned that she should try having kids nonetheless.

A female Nigerian pilot opened up on why she doesn’t want to have kids, as she speaks about her work schedule. She said whenever people asked her why she didn’t want to have children, she showed them her work schedule. In a video by @flygirl_sue on TikTok, the lady said that once she gets pregnant, she would be deemed unfit to fly. She said: “When folks ask me, Why don’t you want to have kids? I show them my work schedule. 6am, why am I awake this early? Fly with me to Lagos while I tell you about aspects of my job that would hinder me from being a great mum.” 

Sharing her work schedule, the lady added: “If I work 7 days straight, I’m entitled to one-day off. And on those days, all I want to do is to chop life and rest. Our destinations are also very dynamic. Today its Lagos, tomorrow it might be Prague. "As a female pilot, the law deems me unfit to fly once I found out I’m pregnant. If I’m lucky and evaluated as a low risk pregnancy, I’m limited to about 3 months of flying. That’s not the trade I’m willing to make.” The video was captioned: “Behind the scenes of a corporate pilot's schedule.
