WAFCON final: ‘Mission X done, dusted’ – Nigerians react as Super Falcons beat Morocco

 


A cross-section of Nigerians on social media have hailed the Super Falcons for winning the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON.

DAILY POST reports that Nigeria emerged champions after they defeated Morocco 3-2 in the WAFCON final at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat.

The first half ended 2-0 in favour of the host nation, thanks to goals from Ghizlane Chebbak and Sanaâ Mssoudy. 

However, in the second half, three goals from Esther Okoronkwo, Folashade Ijamilusi and Jennifer Echegini ensured the Super Falcons defeated Morocco to lift their 10th WAFCON trophy.

After the final game, some Nigerians took to social media to express their happiness as the Super Falcons accomplished “mission X”.
