Breaking: Iran Announces End of War With Israel, "Heroic"

 


Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said his country successfully ended the war in what he calls a "great victory" The war began on June 13 when Israel launched a series of strikes against Iran that included dozens of military targets, including the country's nuclear programme Authorities in Iran called on citizens to take to the streets and celebrate the 'triumph' over Israel.

Tehran, Iran - Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Tuesday, June 24, announced the "end of the 12-day war" with Israel. As reported by CNN, Pezeshkian made the announcement in a message to the nation broadcast by the official IRNA news agency. Pezeshkian said: "Today, after the heroic resistance of our great nation, whose determination makes history, we are witnessing the establishment of a truce and the ending of this 12-day war imposed by the adventurism and provocation of Israel." 

Earlier on Tuesday, June 24, Pezeshkian said Iran will respect the ceasefire announced by US President Donald Trump, provided that Israel also upholds its terms. Pezeshkian said: “If the Zionist regime does not violate the ceasefire, Iran will not violate it either." Israel-Iran war began on June 13, after Israel fired dozens of missiles at Tehran. The attack, condemned by several countries including Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, China, and Russia, was described by Israel as a preemptive strike to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. Israel also said Iran’s nuclear development programme posed a threat to its national security. In response, Iran fired retaliatory strikes into Tel Aviv, and for 11 days, both countries traded missiles, killing hundreds of citizens and injuring many others. 

Although the United States (US) initially tried to distance itself from the conflict, it eventually got involved when Trump announced that the US had bombed three Iranian nuclear facilities on June 22. The airstrikes affected Iran’s nuclear facilities located in Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan Province. Trump described the attack as a “successful attack” and noted that all of the US aircraft are now out of Iranian airspace. Israel vs Iran: Bright Ndibunwa, popularly known as Bright The Seer, warned that if the Iran-Israel war is not well-managed, "it is going to escalate and will affect many countries that ever imagined".
